Harvest Pie Contest November 17th, 2011
A fundraiser for the Yuba Watershed Institute

 

RULES

The Harvest Pie Contest is open to the public. Each contestant can enter as many pies as they wish. A separate entry form must accompany each pie. Once submitted, the pie will be available for sale by slice, all proceeds benefit YWI.

Entry
• It is free to enter the contest
• Pie entries can be submitted in only one category
• Multiple pie entries per each person are allowed
• Fill out a registration form for each pie you enter at the time of drop off
• The pie entered must be in the name of the person or business who made it.
• Entrants must bring their own pie serving implement, per pie.

Pies
• 'Pie' is open to interpretation (no crisps or cobblers please).
• Pie crust and filling must be made from scratch
• Pies will be served at room temperature. 

Categories
• Best Fruit Pie
• Best Custard or Cream Pie
• Best Savory Pie

Judging and Prizes
A panel of judges from the community will be judging the entries for the following: Taste, Texture and Consistency, Appearance, and Creativity. This is a blind judging and all decisions of the judges are final.

• A prize will be awarded for each category. 

• Judging and prizes will be awarded the day of the contest, November 17th, at The Haven.

• Submit pies between 5:00 and 5:30 p.m. on November 17th, at the Haven. (unless other delivery arrangements have been made via Maria Ryan: info@yubawatershedinstitute.org)

• Winners will be announced at 6:30 p.m. 

By participating in this event, entrants agree to abide by the contest rules and decisions of the judges. Entrants agree to release the Y.W.I., the organizers of the event, the pie judges, and all who participate in the production of this event from any liability without limitations.
