The Yuba Watershed Institute (YWI) offers an array of educational programs, providing on-going lectures, field seminars, workshops, nature walks and events that investigate and explore all aspects of The Nature of this Place: The Yuba Watershed.
Whether your interests lie in natural and local history, ecological research, natural resource management, hiking, conservation or nature-inspired arts, TNTP offers something for everyone.
Through TNTP education series, the Yuba Watershed Institute functions as a conduit for the region’s scientists, naturalists and artists to share their knowledge and passion to elevate the public’s awareness and connection to our natural world.
YWI often invites guest presenters from outside the region as well. In doing so, we acknowledge that activities within the watershed may affect a particular species, habitat or place elsewhere, and forces and activities outside the watershed may cause impacts within it. It is at the core of our organization’s practice to draw knowledge from a broader discussion and experience to determine if models and methodologies developed and implemented outside the region may serve as solutions to local environmental concerns.
